Carter Carb problems
Today I decided to troubleshoot a sticky throttle, and discovered that the carb has a lot of loose screws. The sticking (I think) was caused by the fast idle mechanism, which was almost ready to fall off (as was the choke butterfly mechanism). The springs didn't seem to be set up correctly, either.
I had the carb rebult by Bob Bulick back in April. I'm rather disappointed in the workmanship; there were a lot of loose items (e.g. leaky screen, loose screws on float bowl). I'm thinking of buying a rebuilt carb (to keep it running) and getting a rebuild kit and redoing the original carb myself. I'm having trouble finding a source for the carbs - Kanter seems to be the only one. (I've tried to contact Bulick a few times about something else, and my emails are not responded to. I'm wondering if he's still around).
Can anyone recommend a source for a rebuilt carb? I don't want to give up my core carb, as I'd like to keep it for a spare.
Thanks,
Ed

Keep your eye on eBay and get yourself a cheap second carb you can keep on the shelf in case of emergencies then rebuild it and away you go. I would not rebuild and leave sit as the gaskets and accel pump dry out.
Get a kit and do it yourself those old Carter carbs are easy.0
