NEED: 54 Hudson Wasp backup lights (circular, ?)

I would like to put the correct backup lights on my
1954 Super Wasp. I have seen photos that indicate
they are circular (base) w/semicircular lenses. I have determined
that the previous owner (s)
had installed the Hornet wide stainless w/backup lights on the back of my
Super Wasp, and those holes now will have to be welded in and
refinished smoothly.

I want to know if you know what the correct backup lights look
like on a 54 Super Wasp. I have seen photos that indicate
circular at the base with a semi-circular lense (correct?).

Anyone know where I may buy a complete pair, preferably NOS??

Please respond to John via e-mail

THANKS for any/all leads

  • See the lights on this S Wasp Sedan... now owned by Steve Traut... the lights are too high on fender, but they were customer and dealer installs... MY last 54 Wasp had them in the more conventional location, lower on the fender. grin.gif54SWHudson.jpg

I posted the previous picture... forgot to take credit for same. The lights on the car are YANKEE backups... with rubber bases ... they were options on the Wasp and SUper Wasp. The trim presently on your car is actually correct for the Super Wasp too. The better back up lights and trim were available on the Super Wasp... says so in the Group and unit parts books... so taking it off because it is Hornet is incorrect... as it was an option... but the look you desire is what is best for you..
