adjusting third brush generator
hello, my '35 t-plane sedan deluxe still has a 3rd brush generator with a cutout switch as per the original schematic. i just blew a pair of headlight filaments due to what i believe was over voltage. the service manual says you can adjust the third brush position and describes which direction it should be moved but does not say HOW to move the brush. how do i adjust the third brush to bring my volts within the manual range of 7.4 to 8.0 volts? regards, tom

The third brush holder is located in a spring-loaded slot, and you can move the brush holder around. Move it in the direction of rotation to increase the charge. You may need to lever it with a screwdriver, but be careful you don't crush the insulated collar or you will create a short circuit through the brush spring.0

The third brush is the one you can see from the top.
