Need: headlight buckets, springs, adjusters for 41
Hi,
I found a lot of rot in my headlight buckets and need to find a source for them and the associated parts: springs and adjusters. Does anyone know of a source for these parts?
I was attempting to aim my headlights last night and discovered that the adjusters were frozen. Today I disassembled the headlights (had to grind the heads off the screws holding the buckets in place, they were both rusted and painted in place) and found that the tops of the buckets were pretty rotted around the hole where the cable grommet is mounted. I was able to remove the adjusters and free them up, but they are pitted. The springs were a total loss and all of them broke when I attempted to remove them. I can probably epoxy or bondo a patch on the buckets but I'd rather replace them. I'm wondering if there's a equivalent brand X part that would fit, or if someone has a set they would part with. My car is a 1941 Traveler Six (model 10).
Thanks
Ed

Thanks, I bid on them as mine are pretty worn out.
HOWEVER: I am looking for the part that the bucket fits into, that mounts in the fender. I guess (!) I dunno what it's called - I thought THAT part was the bucket (my bad, as the kids say). The parts that are badly rusted are the ones that the bucket mounts into, that are held in the fenders by 4 screws. Any leads on those? (And what the heck are they called??). Obviously these are splashed by whatever the tire kicks up, so it's not surprising that they are rusted.
