Pacemaker widow crank knobs

:)I have a 1950 Hudson Pacemaker, low milage, but the window crank knobs crumbled away several years ago. The backing plates are fine; maybe a different plastic. The color is Spruce green. I've never found any for sale, only Ivory, brown or maroun; apparently the green was more suseptible to deterioration. Does anyone know where I might find some or whether anyone is remanufacturing them?

I beleive new ones are available from K-Gap, however I think they are only available in ivory

My '50 Pacemaker blue/green plastic crank knobs also disintigrated and after looking around for a matching color set of knobs with no luck, I finally purchased the ivory ones from K-Gap. As far as I know, K-Gap or anyone else hasn't reproduced these knobs in anything but ivory. Good luck in your search.

Thanks, Dan for the information. Perhaps the thing to do would be to get an ivory knob from Kgap and molding supplies from Micro Mark and mix up a resin of the proper color and cast my own knobs. I think that that is the best approach, for I'm sure I'll never run across any originals.

And Harry Hill, stop making fun of my spelling.

I had ordered a set of ivory ones for my '46 from K-gap and their supplier is running behind. Was told that they should be getting some by the end of this month.

Middletom, the Pomona swapmeet is coming up, I wouldn't be surprised to see the right color knobs show up there. Of course you still end up with the problem of 59 year old plastic, casting your own will at least give you new knobs. Could you just paint the ivory knobs though,the new plastic paints seem to stick pretty well.

Harry, I hadn't given a thought to painting the knobs but with the acrylics available today, that might be the answer. Thanks muchly.
