Fifth Avenue Reproductions

This may have already been covered on the Forum but has anyone tried the new reporduction Borg-Warner Overdrive relay unit carried by Fifth Avenue, located in Clay Center, Kansas? How are they to deal with--I don't recall seeing them mentioned very often?
They also carry reproduction Borg-Warner overdrive solenoids-- anyone try one of these. They too, are pricey at 265 semolians.
See---for reference--

The OD relay at $126 seems a bit pricey to me but if it is an authentic reproduction that may of little consequence if you are striving for originality.
I'm surely no expert at this but I didn't think these units incorporated a visible fuse until 1948?
I assume this unit will work on my 1946 C-8 Coupe?
Are there any other reliable sources for these two parts.
I have asked several questions of late and have never taken time to thank all those who have responded. This Forum is an invaluable asset whe you are struggling to get technical advice and locate parts.
I sure would have appreciated it when I first started driving Hudsons in the late 50's/early 60's.
Thanks again.

Another company that carries these parts is Studebaker International. They are cheaper then Fifth Avenue.
Overdrive relay - $95.00
Overdrive Solonoid - $175.00

KGAP is negotiating with a supplier of 6v relays for use on the OD units, headlights, electric fans, etc. I think they will be in the 10 to 15 dollar range. They are, however the modern style, and do not look like the old ones.0

For the purist...the "CAN" for the existing relay is large enough that the modern relay may fit inside so "modern guts" can make the OD work and the appearance remain original.0

There's even a tech article, complete with pictures, on doing the job. Here's the link.

Jim,
I've bought two of the gear driven fuel pumps, and a few other smaller things from 5th Ave., and have found their parts to be of high quality. Randy is very helpful and knowledgeable. I would recommend them to anyone.0 -

Mike:
Thank you for posting that link. That is great bit of information to have.
I have a few relays and I am going to try that during the upcoming long winter.0 -
The relay K-Gap is looking at is exactly same as the one in the Stude article, except made to operate on 6v, so the "pull-in" reliability will be better, and the chance of contact arcing reduced.0
