39 Hudson "Martz" Roadster

Well, I guess that I can share a few notes on my progress to date. I have stripped all the junk off the car and disassembled most of what needs to be disassembled with saws-all, and stuff. A few friends located a complete 39 Country Club dash and radio and I have torn them down and finished the restoration including new chrome. I also chromed all the other bright work and with the 42 bumpers I decided to weld in the bumper bolts, grind down the heads and make "smoothie" bumpers front and rear. With the 42 bumpers, the rear bumper will be fit into a splash pan and be the same width as the car. I need the splash pan for the rear tire that will be mounted on the turtle back hump. I have a new white wall tire mounted white side in so that when the tire cover is in place you will see the white next to the car. The tire cover is at the sand-blaster.
I have the "early 50"s Star Wire Wheels" blasted and power coated and painted yellow. The new Coker wide whites are mounted and they are ready to go. A late 40's heater is restored in Hammer Paint brown and the core restored and it is ready to go. The engine (the car had a 283 GM as the last running engine and I have upgraded that to a 62 issue 327 Corvette engine with three two's. It will be taken to the shop this weekend. The body is scheduled to be off the frame by the first of October and we will start cutting on the parts car. I picked up some Thunderbird seats from a 61 bird and the fronts are a good fit. The back seat was cut to fit, and now the frames are out at the sandblaster as well. It seems to be going slow, but then it takes some time for good work? That is enough for now. I'll send some more and some photo's once we start the cut and weld for the frame and body.
