Question , Did you retorque the headgaskets? Recheck the headbolts, it could be solved with tightening them, and checking later for water again.

A compresssion check is going to reveal if the gasket has failed between two cylinders if you have low readings.

After that, pull the head and inspect for a blown headgasket

Look for a water trail on the block. Also look for cracks

    in block and head.

A way to tell if you really have water in the oil is to let set overnight then remove the oil drain plug (with a catch pan). (I have used a glass jar for observation). If I recall correctly, water will come out first. If so, I suggest trying one of the Sealers available before tearing down. I like K&W Permenant Sealer

hello, i agree with most posts here. since you say this is a sudden change i would want to know what i was trying to fix in order to determine what the appropriate fix is. you may have a defect that a stop leak product cannot fix (i.e. blown head gasket) and now you have the product in you radiator when it cannot fix your problem..you may in that case be creating another problem (clutter in the small tubes in the 70 year old radiator)without fixing your current problem. what was the reason for TWO head gaskets recently? are you getting combustion products in your coolant? how much does your coolant level drop? does the coolant level change when parked or only when running? does the oil look milky after you have driven the car? regards, tom

The reason for two head gaskets is the '31 eight used two heads, one for the front four cylinders and one for the rear four cylinders
