Shop Update: What's Taking so Long Anyway?

Yeah - what's taking so long?
I'd like to know that too
Here's some pic's of where the shop is right now. I'm still shuffling things around...I really need to move the compressor outside  - but, that's another "2 week" project and another $1k to build a shed ...maybe next year
I still have some lights to hang on the "working end" of the shop note how dark it is...that's not a stylistic setting for the pictures!
You can see the Goff Curtain wall installed and the door Pella Storm door I framed in so when I'm painting I don't need to move the curtain to get in/out of the "paint booth"
I was going to epoxy the floor in the paint area, but that may also have to wait as I think I'll be lucky enough to get the cracks sealed...crud...I want to start hammering on a car...not working on the Shop

That's slick. With a shop like that you should be able to get a lot done.:D Wish I had a place like that to work in.:(
You know in fifty years when you sell the place the new owners will say "Why in the heck would someone put a door way in there, you could just walk around!" LOL0 -

LOL indeed- that would put me about 96 years young, I really don't expect to last that long and I most certainly will sell this place before then - since it's clear from the pics that I need more room

Dan if you wait until the shop is perfect you'll never get any work on the cars done. I just do both, work on my cars and do the shop in between projects or when my mood changes. I'm a frustrated perfectionist which means I gave up long ago trying to have everything perfect.....you know the motto " jest gett'er done "0

What a super shop, what room(space), what lighting, what forsite, soo clean, no junk, you got to have storage space cause I dont see extra parts. How do you plan this far in advance? Are you following a plan(in a book) or are you gifted? Not being critical, just admiring your planning. Thanks for showing pics. Bob0

Hi Bob,
Bob is my older brothers name too ~ Thanks for the compliments, everyone!
Bob, you must not have seen the pics when I started the "remodel"...
A couple of months ago I couldn't walk thru the shop without my butt and stomach rubbing against something as I tried to squeeze by, and finding a tool was like finding a good woman (least my luck anyway)
The overall layout/plan is in only in my head ~ but, I've worked in a lot of shops over the years and have the advantage of working in this shop for over a year so I was able to have a good feel for what would fit the space (and my limited budget)
LOL - the extra parts...
I have a 10x12 shed that has some parts in it, 2 bedrooms upstairs with other parts...the primered Hood for the 49 is in sitting my living room right now and the 49 is sitting on the trailer outside by the 2 dump trucks and 2 pickup trucks I own
So although the pictures might make it look like "everything has a place and everything in its place"...well, let's just say its a start!0 -
