I wonder if that would fit on a 55? I think it has the same windshield as the 54.
Harry0 -
Er...I believe it only fits 48-530
-
That would make a difference. Am I correct in thinking the 54 and 55 share the same windshield? If so who has a 54 visor laying around looking for a home?
Harry0 -
Harry, The 54 visor is rare as hens teeth. I have only seen one and it was a picture of it! Quite a few of the earlier visors 48-53 have been adapted by making new side brackets and fabricating a center bracket to mount above the windshield.

I saw a picture of a visor on a 55 Nash that shares the same windshield as my car. Of course it was in Australia or New Zealand, one of those down under countries. There must be some around, I just need to find one.

Harry, There is only one country Down Under that is Australia, the other one drifted away from us a long time ago.LOL
If you came to Australia there are companies who make visors for most makes of cars, I have them made and have them fitted to all my modern cars and used to have them on all my trucks I have ever owned, not many people here use them, but they can be made.0 -
Okay Huddy, we won't mention those drifty Kiwi's then. Who do you know in your neck of the woods who make visors?
Harry0 -
Harry,
You'll have much better luck checking around with the Rambler / Nash group for the correct visor or atleast what they use. Fulton made lots of universal visors and that's the most common brand. These are not hard to find.0 -
I bought what was billed as a stepdown Hudson sun visor at a swap meet a few years ago, and now, with those detailed pics, I can figure out if it really is! If so, I'll have one to sell, as I have no need for it with my present car. Am in western Washington.0

Here is picture of our 54 with visor taken at Pittsburgh National. Above are pictures of the brackets we fabricated to make the 48-53 visor work. I have driven car 85 mph with no flutter problems.:)0 -
This shows the visor I fitted to our 1965 Rambler Classic.
We have a firm here is Sydney called Hy-Way sunvisors, I have had them make visors for me in the past, but, they need the car so they can get it right.
Usually takes about 4 weeks.0 -
Hi Dave our 54 Hornet Hollywood has a roof mount antenna. Can I
still use the center brace that you use on your 54 conv. duncan0 -
I stopped at a friends place yesterday and asked if he had a outside sunvisor
and he had one that the frame was made of round rod shaped like any sunvisor except it was covered with fabric like roof material.
interesting duncan0 -
