Keys
Hey ya'll,
I am looking for key blanks for my 48 Commodore can anyone give me a source?
The guy I got the car from was using a screwdriver , said he didn't get any keys with it when he got the car.
While I was cleaning it out I found the lock cyl. for the ign. switch , I found that an old style gm key was close so I filed a blank to work the switch.
I would like to get the right key blank if I can.
Thanks for any help,
James

Hudson, as well as most of independants, used Briggs-Stratton lock assemblies. Any locksmith should be able to make you a key to fit your lock cylinder. The ignition key should have a round head. That ignition key will also then fit the front door locks. The key for the glove compartment ( a hex head key) also fits the trunk lock.

I'm not sure about the "newer" Hudsons, but I discovered that an American Motors key blank fit right into my 1937's ignition lock slot. I had them make copies using that blank. So one of my keys actually has the A-M logo on it. An older lock shop may have some of those American Motors blanks.0
