Air cleaner decals

On my Twin H oil bath type air cleaners ( '53 ) there is a crescent-shaped decal on the oil pot at the end of each one, that I assume was put there by the factory, explaining how to care for and maintain them.

I know where to get the Twin H Power decals, but have no idea where to get the other ones. Anyone out there know a source??

  • I could use two of these as well. I would love to find a source.

BTW, I had my friend that cuts vinyl do a bunch of twin h power decal for me, that are outstanding. He cut black, then applied the yellow, giving the proper drop shadow effect. they look great! no clear carrier, just the lettering!

Not to hijack, but about the air cleaner decals does anyone have any info on

variations? My Twin H~Power air cleaners which look to be original, have no sign of

the oval around it that I see on all other air cleaners that I've seen to date. My other

question is does anybody know what process they used to apply this lettering from

    the factory?

Kgap has the Twin H decal but not the small AC decal. I think this decal might be available from a GM restoration specialist. GM products used AC filters. I was doing some research, but got sidetracked and haven't gotten back to the hunt. I did find the power steering decals on a Buick restoration site. Trimmed the "Buick" letters off and used it on the 54 Hornet Hollywood.Looks good to me. The original decals were decalcomanias. A water transfer. Not found much anymore. Most all the reproductions are a vinyl product. I did find a Fram water transfer aircleaner decal for an old Chevy truck I was working on and the oil filter decal from Kgap is the water transfer type as original. I used a clear spray over mine to help preserve them.

I thought that maybe once-upon-a-time that Clifford may have had those decals, but I checked out an old Clifford Catalog and I was wrong. They may have been available from Full Line, but as I don't have an old Full Line Catalog I can't check. Either way, it would seem that you are out of luck from my research. You may have to follow Dave's lead and get ahold of a GM Restoration Parts Catalog like Classic Chevy or such and go from there. Maybe some of the GM muscle car magazines may have an ad from a decal resource that you could contact.

I may pick up another set of air cleaners to restore, but these are just too

perfect to mess with. Just the right amount of "patina" and faded decals to

let ya know there every bit of 50 years old.

  • There's an idea that never occured to me, since I too have a friend who does all sorts of majic with vinyl and a laser cutter. I'll see if I can get him to reproduce some of the maintenance decals for us. Thanks for the idea !!

  • Let me know... I would love a pair, if they would be available at any point. If anyone is interested in the Twin H power decals, I can try to get a picture of my aircleaners up, with the decals on, and a picture of the decals as they come. They seem to be, im my opinion, better that the plastic carrier type that the club store has, if memory serves correct. I am not sure as to what Bill has, but, if it is anything like the rest of his stuff, i am sure it is of great quality... I got a pair of his heat shields, and let me say they are a thing of beauty...

I found the decals you want all you have to do is find someone who is a Packard clud member and order a set through them. they have the decals listed on one of their club catalogs. I found this on the internet when I was looking for some. I have not bought any because I am not ready for them yet and could not figure out who to contact from the web page I was looking at.
