Trying to get a leg up on interior restoration; does both seats and backs have buttons? And does anyone have part in attached picture for sale?

Hi Ray,



Yes, both seats have buttons. Two on the rear upper, two on the bottom cushion and the same for the front seats. I'm sure someone can post a pic.

Thanks Neil, I would appreciate recieving interior seat/back pictures with buttons. In the meantime I picked up my 17 inner engine and surrounding parts from www.americanpolishingplating.com shop, can't believe the service brought pieces 9/27 and picked today. Next project is wood graining interior dash, and window surrounding frames & valiances.

Also, where does the part you need go again? Don't recognize from the picture.

I can take care of the wood graining if you'ld like, beside stainless and aluminum trim I also produce a nice wood-grain.............Rick

No, American doesn't do woodgraining...After lost parts and inferior work at last chrome shop, American Polishing & Plating satisfactorily on time completed the balance of all my chrome and stainless polishing requirements making me happy with overall experience and results.



I know I having a hard time descibing where part goes, however under the center of front bumper, there are left and right sort of balance pieces and piece in picture is bolted in center of pieces. After I fisnish barrage of doctors tests, I plan to bring all powder coated parts to my car and will attempt once again to take proper picture identifying part.

Thanks, I already had every piece of stainless polished using high speed buffing wheels. I havn't sent about 15 pieces to shop in Texas for woodgraining yet, but already negoitiated with shop owner.

I am sure many people have the part you want (I do), but the problem is, most people don't want to separate it from the rest of the valance (sp?). It would be hard to sell the other two pieces without the part that holds them together. You might be better off trying to buy all three pieces. I don't think I have ever seen them on Ebay before, so I'm not sure what they are worth.

Hi Don,



I thought that would be the case and frankly speaking I don't blame owner, if Bill Albright doesn't have, I'll just have to fabricate using part I have as template. Thanks for interior seat compliment, all seats were stripped of old cotton, burlap, painted and started from platform up with new burlap, foam and cotton, in fact I am leaving for upholstery shop right now, I was hoping to receive some pictures of seats and backs with button position; nothing yet? Also have to bring seat handle control to chrome shop for powder coating today.

The part that Ray is looking for is the center piece that "splices" the left and right grill pans together. See the following picture, the part is clearly visible.

I have been unable to find a good picture of a front seat with buttons. The attached picture is from the original 52 Brochure showing button placement in rear seat. The front was the same... use leatherete on the buttons and will match the method the factory used.

My 52 is a sedan, and the quote below is not totally correct for the sedan (et to, why I have not responded until today) My sedan has the buttons as defined below, however, the back seat of my sedan has three buttons on the bottom cushon and two on the top part. The center fold down in the back seat covers the center button. The large full color Hudson book for 1952 shows the button locations.

You are all correct, I am loosing it. After seeing the post I went out and looked at my car. The photo from the flyer is correct and just the way I did mine. Since we used the same flyer for my project it is easy to see why they would match. My brain is getting old. Anyway, disregard my comment as quoted below.
