Do I need a new harm balancer??
Hey all,
OK so now that I am up an running good I noticed that the crank balancer on my 36T 212 looks to have been cracked and welded at some point in life. It has some wobble at idle but seems to improve with rpm's. Is this going to be a problem?? If so who is the best to contact about another one?
I presume Al S would be a good source but if not.....
Thanks again,
Jeff

Jeff, I wouldn't risk a problem with that balancer assembly. You never know what might happen when you wind that 212 out to 7,000 rpm or so! Seriously, I'd certainly replace it. I don't think it would be hard to find one ... lots of junk engines out there. And yes, if you're out west Al Saffrahn would be a good place to start.0
