    That's actually for the late 1930's Terraplane utility coupe, and it slides out of the trunk as a drawer would.

    I think that Box could be sandblasted and restored; I had one made or I would be interested.

    Someone could buy it and donate it to Bent Metal - maybe + some cash for materials and in return get a new bed?

    Then Bent would have the pattern to build more ;)

    Of course the question is - would there really be a demand for these roll-out boxes to be reproduced on a limited basis?

    Speaking of shadows, here is one of my favorites. Thsi picture was taken on I95 S in the early AM at 75mph.



    Back on subject, the bed seems restorable. I can't imagine there is a demand for quantity of these , but there is probably enough demand for a few very well made reproductions to justify copying it. It's the first one I've seen for sale.
