Question about Tires
Just received my tires 6.50 x 16 tires from Universal (same size of the tires that are currently on my '40 coupe). There is a warning on the tire that says only to use on 16" rims and not 16.5" rims. When I measured the diameter of my rim, it was 17.25" wide.
On my '50, my rim measures 16" but yet the tire size is 715 x 15. How do you measure these tires and wheels for sizes?
Thanks in advance.

To measure wheel diameter, you measure from where the beads of the tire seat on the wheel. This measurement does not include the rim flange.
See this web sites for picture of rim dimensions.
