28 essex gas cap

Can anyone tell me what the correct gas gap for a 28 essex sedan looks like?

I have a painted screw on cap doesn't appear to be original.

    The original early 1928 Essex gas cap was plain type with a metal bar riveted across the top, so that the ends extended out either side as a grip. It was painted. The later series 1928 had a twist-on type.

    What you described is what I have. My Serial number is 716163 so I must have an early model.
