Where does the word "Velchrome" come from?0 -
Sheldon's "what's what color" above is correct. For parts originally in Velchrome, get "Argent Silver" from your automotive paint store. For the engine and tranny, Duplicolor's 500 degree engine paint (spray can) in #DE 1615 Aluminum is perfect. Very close to the original color, and the right amount of "chrominess." Don't put it on too heavily ... you want the texture of the cast metal parts to show. Duplicolor now also has a 1200 degree aluminum spray paint for manifolds, etc. Am just about to try it for the first time, so don't know how well it holds up.0
