Non Hudson Question

My brother and I bought a 1930 Chevrolet 4 door sedan about 25 years ago from our brother in law. The car had a bad engine and we never did anything to it because it was only a Chevy and not a cherished Hudson. We are trying to sell the car now and cannot find a serial number anywhere on the car. Does anyone know were it might be?

If you looked at the usual places, engine, firewall, door posts, flloor boards, there is probably one on the chassis/frame but getting to it is another matter.

Standard Catalog of American Cars says serial number is "on right body sill under floor mat ..." Should begin with 9AD, 12AD or 21AD depending on whether it's a "club sedan," "4-dr sedan" (most common), or "Special Sedan." All these are 4-door, 5 passenger models. 9s were built in Norwood, OH, 12s in Buffalo, NY, 21s in Janesville, WI.
