I am doing a 34 Terraplane coupe, 454 CI Turbo 400, and 9". I am in the final stages of reassembly after paint, and have discovered I do not have the trunk latch. I have the handle w/ key, but not the mechanism that bolts inside the trunk lid. Help!!!

Thanks, Tom

I don't have a latch, but I would sure like to see your Coupe. I'm also building a 34 Terraplane Coupe. Not quite as strong. I've got a 350/350 setup at around 410hp. I'm still debating if I want a 9" Ford or a 12 bolt GM rear. You don't happen to have a good set of running boards or a ornament base do you?

I use both Rears and consider them pretty equal. The 12 Bolts a little heavier in Wt and needs C Clip eliminator Kits for axle retention Safety and maybe a Stud girdle cover. Ford 9" only drawback is it needs a solid pinion crush collar for brute HP and 31 spline axles.
  • Sorry, I don't have either of the parts, but will be contacting people re. my part, and will check on running boards, and ornament base, if you like. Will attempt to send pics. later. Tom

hi i have templates to make a 34/35 coupes in to a rumble seat car there made out of paper but you will have to make the hinges out of alum. let me know if you want a copy
  • I have the trunk, and all hardware except the latch, does the regular trunk latch work when used as a rumble seat. I would appreciate any patterns to make a latch. Tom

Would you be interested in one running board? Right side.

Yes! If it's in good shape I'd be very interested. I've got one, but it needs alot of work. Send me a PM with the price and a contact number or e-mail. Thanks, Walt
