Any other pictures of the Hudson assembly process out there?

The thread I posted earlier with the photos I found in the Life Magazine archives has got me thinking.



Are there photos of the manufacturing process, assembly lines, finished cars waiting shipment, cars on dealer lots, etc. that are available for viewing? I love these kind of photos and the Life photos I found really have me thinking.



There are tons of photos out of the Ford plant, GM plants, dealers, etc over the years.



What's out there for us HET fans?

The Hudson Club owns a complete set of factory assembly photos from the 1948-49 Hudson assembly years. These photos were published in a past issue of the WTN. I believe one of the benefits of club membership is access to the historic information held in the Hudson Club library. Someone else with specific knowledge of the rules could help you access that information. Also the Detroit Library has many pieces of information about the Hudson car and its assembly. The on line resources do not give free access ... but do allow you to ask for support in finding and obtaining automotive historic information. Good Luck

The book "Fun at Work, Hudson Style" has several pictures taken within the plant showing engine assebly, painting, stamping, upholstery, etc.

The club library has quite a few assembly plant photos from the earlier years as well. Librarian John O'Halloran found a couple for me years ago that allowed me to confirm the correct color of a couple of engine components (silver vs. black) in 1936. A photo of complete chassis and driveline, ready for installation of the body, showed exactly what I needed.

There is even a movie showing the assembly process, circa 1934. In it, Lowell Thomas (famous newscaster from the '30's and '40's) narrates a tour through the factory, watching his new Hudson being built. I'm not sure where the movie is right now, but I believe it's somewhere in the "H-E-T System".
