Hudson Convertible Tow Chief

I was browsing through Alex's General Information Handbook and I saw this and thought it was neat.

I would love to have one, but there are two things stopping me.

1. I don't have the fabrication skills.

2. I don't have a Hudson pickup LOL.

    Neat "little" add on!

Is it my eyes or the illustration?

But, the bedside looks taller to accomodate the "raised" bed-floor for the hook to stow-away.

Other than that if anyone could get some more illustrations or pics a similar setup could be fabricated without too much difficulty.

Has anyone ever seen a "live" truck with this setup?
  • The bed deck is taller, there is more to this than meets the eye. Is the winch a hand crank unit? There also must be added supports between the box and the frame in the back as many of us know thats only thin sheet metal back where the bridle assembly is mounted. Also to tow safely the tailgate would have to be removed,as if you had a panic stop wham- there goes the tailgate. Maybe thats why so few origional tailgates are straight. Lou Cote

If I had one of these I'd bid on the truck that is currently on eBay.
