Is there any difference in the 1955 cam and the 1951-53 cam?

I think I read somewhere the the 55 was alittle hotter?

Here's a summary of my understanding from various sources, including the parts book ... clarifications/corrections are welcome! The change actually occurred for '54, when they put what had been the "severe use" cam into the regular production cars. But there were problems with timing gear wear and customer gripes about poor idle, so late in production they switched to a cam that was milder, but still hotter than the pre '54s. And they brought out a new severe use cam at the same time.

Copy of the Hudson Bulletin to Dealers concerning cam changes. As Park states 1954.

Information about another cam varient: Taken from Ken Cates Website

    Ken,

The Mystery Cam has been found and its # 309397 is cast between front lobe centers (not stamped) This is the one that Bernie (SIEGFRIED) asked were did you get that cam? It was one of a few that was made by Hudson but did not go into production. (it had a rough idle so Hudson changed it a bit and it became the 309742-flat-top. I wonder how many more are out there?
