47 Commodore Question
A Commodore owner I know has a 47 and he asked me what the hole in his truck is for. Its about 10 inches across and 10 inches deep and had a wire reinforced canvas bucket in it. Was this to hold tools? is it standard or previous owner mod.
Can't say I have heard of this before. I have seen Hudsons with a metal depression for tools but not a canvas bag.
Any info appreciated.

Hi.--- This hole is not in the trunk area of the floor, but is under the rear seat & serves to equalize air pressure by allowing air to escape while traveling with the windows up & the cowl vent open. As far as I know, this feature endured right through the step-down years. Hudsonly,---Cliff Minard.0

Actually it was supposed to be a filter for air coming IN, as opening the vent wings would creat a slight vacuum in the car. Not sure why they thought air coming in from the pavement below would be good! At least they filtered it through that heavy cloth.0

Thanks for the answer passed on the info.0
