I know some people don't like typing But, we're trying to squeak some more information out of you to help you find a car!

A Hudson stepdown can range in price from $500.00 for a rust bucket to $100,000+ for a convertible.

So all we know right now is you're looking for a Stepdown-hot-rod-style build and willing to spend $0.00-$Infinity depending on condition

So here's some more questions that may help narrow the search ...

1. Besides Price range?
2. Do you want the original drivetrain intact, with a Twin-H perhaps?
3. you want one that has had a front sub-frame swap and is with modern running gear or somewhere in between?
4. Do you want to work on the car - or are you looking for a "turn-key driver"
5. Where are you located?
6. Are you willing to pay for shipping or do you want something local.

I WANT A HOT/ STREET ROD SOMETHING FINISHED OR SOMETHING CLOSE TO BEING FINISHED.

WOULD LIKE NEWER SUSPENTION AND ENGINE.

THE BODY IS THE MOST IMPORTANT I AM NOT A BODY MAN SO I WANT SOMETHING THAT IS NICE BODY AND PAINT SHINY OR SUEDE.

COUPE OR SEDAN.

PRICE DEPENDS ON THE CAR!

I AM IN THE MID WEST AND WILL TRANSPORT IT FOR THE RITE CAR.

THERE WAS A SILVER AND GRAY 4 DOOR ON EBAY 2 TIMES A YEAR OR SO AGO.

There's always my 1949 stepdown 2 door - just put in engine, tranny, front clip, interior, gauges, wiring, nice wheels and tires and a great paint job and you're there!!!!

No offense intended, but even if my Pacemaker hot rod was finished I'm not so sure I could sell it. Others may share the same emotional attachment to theirs. Even when I don't have time to play with it, just walking by and looking at it provides pleasure. There's just something about having a big ole cuddly Hudson in the shop that's tough to beat. I truely hope you find one.

I have a 1951 Hudson Street Rod, Chopped, Dropped, Frenched and Louvered...Big Block 427, Cold A/C, a 15 year old restoration by Dick Dean "The Sultan of Chop"...originally built for Rick Driskell of the Band called The Units...

I'm not sure what you are looking for because a street rod is built the way the builder thinks his car should be or wants it to be. So to by a nice done one you just need to take your time and look for all the things that you like about what is out there.

Here is one I built a few years ago and spent 10 years doing it. At that time I wanted a good looking sedan that was close to original, a resto rod. That had a good sound and could be driven and shown every where. The guy that has it now, Toney Allen in Fort Myers, FL, has it for sale. He was asking $98,000 but has come down to $70,000 and is taking offers now. This is about $1.00 an hour for the work I did on it, HA,Ha! I would consider selling my 34 convertable with the traailer and golf cart, but it would be around what he was asking for the sedan.

Phew that is 1 tidy unit, I should have just paid the guy what he was asking for the sedan and would have saved 27 years and some bucks LOL
