Studs not Bolts
Have just fitted front disc brake conversion to my '41 truck and will be retaining the stock wheels. Obviously I've now gone from bolts to studs and having applied 70 ft lbs which I felt was an adequate torque setting (agreed by local tyre shop), the nuts still want to keep going. What torque setting has anyone else used in such an application?
What I don't want to do is either ruin the new wheel studs or my original wheels by either over or under doing the torque setting.
Please help as I daren't road test the truck until I have this correct.
Also what is a good Ford rear axle to look out for that would be of the correct width to fit my truck? Drum brakes would be fine.
