master cyl rebuild for '53

hello to all. i am new to forum and starting to bring a 53 hornet back to life. does anyone know if the brass section on the rear of the master cyl just unscrew. thanks

Yes the brass distribution block will unscrew. There should be two threaded holes in it, one goes to the front brakes.the other to the rear. Master cylinder # NAPA 3081, Raybestos 17798. If you need wheel cyl. numbers ,return spring #'s or holddown hardwear #'s I have them too. Welcome to the world of Hudson Lou Cote0

that's exactly how it came apart. as soon as i found out it was threaded i gave it a twist and it came off. my local oreillys carrys dorman stuff so i bet i can get it from them. i have bought variety packs of copper washers from them. i will keep the dimentions you gave and ask for them. thanks again, hr0
