1931 straight eight engine question help please
i have a 31 straight eight. couple questions
what is the subic inch 258?
was it only used in 1930 and 1931?
what other year parts interchange like gaskets etc.
also i removed the heads and i see little copper washer like rings what are those and where do they go ? the just sort of fell all around .

The '30 has a smaller bore than a '31 so headgaskets NOT interchangeable, and the '31 smaller than the '32 when Hudson went to a 3" bore for the Hudson 8 giving 254 cubic inches of displacement. It's dimensions would remain the same until they stopped making the engine in '52.
Also the '30, '31, '32, and '33 Hudsons have 2 heads but from '34 on only 1 so those gaskets different.0 -
