Gas Pedal Boot
Going through a box of parts which came with my '52 Commodore, I came across a rubber boot that looks like it would go over the rod connected to the gas pedal.
Does the boot go over the carpet and uses a metal ring on the boot flange that is screwed to the floor? If there is supposed to be a ring, does anyone have a spare or know of something that will fit.
Does the boot go under the carpet and the carpet has a hole cut exactly to fit over the boot?

Pat, The rubber accordion boot for the gas pedal is secured with a metal ring to the floor surrounding the hole where the linkage comes up. 3 screws keep it in place. Carpeting then goes on top of the floor over the ring and boot base.0
