Did you put new Hudsonite oil in the clutch?
Have you joined Svenska Hudsonklubben? If one of their members lives near you, he or she may be able to help you, or to recommend a mechanic who can rebuild your clutch.
When the clutches are fixed, they work very well.0 -
thanks Jon B
yes ive put in new hudsonite in the clutch and its working better now but its slipping anyway0 -
Have you adjusted the clutch linkage per the manual? If it is adjusted correctly and you have pedal clearence my thoughts is that the clutch is worn out. Only way to check for bad clutch and other parts is pull it out.0

I take note that this car is missing a few chrome pieces - The center strip, which goes down the middle of the center grille; the stainless trim on the left-front center, and there is also a piece of stainless trim missing from the left side flairing (engine side panel).
Take note of the 'side grilles', and fender 'V' emblems, and proper/correct bumper. I didn't see these on your car, but I just might have missed them...
As a project car this looks nice to me. There are any number of bits on there that I need for my car! If only .....0 -
Same here Paul. With persistence and a lot of help, I've gotten quite a bit of the items I figure I will need. Still have quite a way to go -
Well Rick as I've posted on here before my Old Girl has non standard headlights , non standard rear lights (although I have a pair that look right which I will be fitting on soon) , she's missing the chrome strip down the grille , the grille isn't in the best of orders , the paintwork is showing it's age - I could go on.
However I still enjoy driving her and I know that over time as we grow old together I'll be able to fix her up so that's she in a better state than me!0 -

Haven't seen you on the forum in a while. Hope all is well in your neck of the woods.
Does your car have the taillights on the body (like the one on ebay) or on the fenders? BTW are you still looking for bumpers?

Hi Kevin,
Yes long time no activity here but for a long time I couldn't get onto the forum! I kept on getting an error which suggested my ISP was "banned" which I eventually traced to a possible issue with this forum having moved servers and my ISP not purging the old DNS entries. As you can see all is well now.
My car has tailights on the fenders however they are UK taillights and not at all correct for the car as indeed are the headlights. I'll post some pictures to illustrate. I did manage to pick up a pair of 38/39 rear lights which I intend to put on the car at some stage and one of my questions was going to be "where?" as I have seen cars with lights on the body and on the fenders.
I think to keep in with UK laws and legislations that I would mount the lights on the fender.
As for a bumper and the associated over-riders ; yes indeed I am still on the lookout for both a front and rear one. The front is my highest priority because , again, the one I have on the car is non-standard and the chroem has now started to peel on it. I don't want to go through the expense of stripping and chroming a non standard bumper if I can get a proper one.
Do you know of one anywhere at all? It's a slow process getting the bits together and my car will never be concours but then again that's not what I want it to be. I like to drive these old things , always have done. and as long as they look nice then that is good enough for me.
Thanks,
Paul0 -
