I had a simular situation but I was just patient. I believe that they are real busy and just can't make all the orders coming at them right now happen if they don't take some time out and fill the orders. I also think Kaylene is attenting school, and Dany has been busy with the first job. They went into their busy time of year-Behind !! They were affected by the wildfires in Oct/Nov/Dec. Playing catch up is sometimes JUST OVERWHELMING!!! If you have left a message, date and time, and also emailed, they will return your message. I know this sometimes doesn't help,But. If you are in desperate need, you might be able to borrow from someone else and just restock it when they fill your order.:)0 -
They're around ... got an e-mail from them this morning.0

I just got a few parts I ordered last week and an e- mail today. Hang in there.0

Note from Dany indicated that his computer was out of service for a few days. He just got it back and is able to read mail again.:)0

I ordered and paid for an item on 28/8/08, have sent a lot of emails asking about my order, and have had no response. Anyone who has ever run a fulltime or part time business knows how hard it is to find time sometimes, with family and other commitments. Im continually amazed and impressed at what Kgap offers in their yellow book and often tell people how it makes restoration of HET cars a lot easier. They are heroes. Regards, Barry.0

In don't want to "pile on", but, yes I wonder if maybe they ought to sell the business to someone that has the time to devote to it. Lack of response and order filling seems to be the biggest complaint. Too bad.:(0 -
I just got the last part of my order from 2008. The parts were back ordered. Not really much you can do as I am sure there are not people lining up to offer Hudson parts or take over Hudson businesses. Anyone think they can make a living selling Hudson rubber parts and accessories. Its always going to be a part time affair. No matter what the wait I am just glad I can get the parts.0

Has anyone ever tried getting parts for LATE model cars, sometimes you have to wait two to three months for parts, my son is a spray painter and that is the norm on some of these late model imported cars. Just be grateful you can still buy parts for your 50 or 60 year old motor car.I carry spares for HET cars and often wonder why I do.0

I talked with Press at his home/shop on numerous occasions & his biggest problem was suppliers. For instance he'd been getting some popular item for years from a source then all of a sudden they would refuse to make it anymore, or double the price, or go broke, or change hands so it seems this type of business is also vulnerable to the fate of other companies over which they have no control.
When this would happen then he'd have to start a search for another source.
Another point - he had offers to buy K-GAP from several different people over a period of time; he chose the Springs as he thought they'd be best to continue it in the way he would want it continued, with service to HET members & not always how fat is the bottom line.
When K-GAP really got rolling was after Press sold his business so was completely retired + had Janet as a helpmate/backup (she did all the paperwork).
Give Dany & his wife a little slack - they're young, have a family, but are dedicated; I'm sure they'll come thru for you & will probably be in Pontiac.0 -
I hope I am not misunderstood. I aim to offer CONSTRUCTIVE criticism not just complain. I have read about the problems they face in the everyday life. I sympathize..But...A little honest comunication can go a long way.
Example: Place an order for two items. One comes. the other doesn't. A simple hand writtren note in the package, that the second part is back orderd or not available would take one minute? .. When an email is sent asking where the second part is,( because you don't know if they forgot it or what).. No answer. Then after several attempts. You get an email that 'it's on it's way".. Weeks later..no part. Fixing my Hudson is not a top priority, but if the parts are not availble, then that gives me time to decide if I want to find another source or wait.
Like I said..just some simple quick communication would go a long way towards keeping the business flowing. remember, we here on the Forum are just the tip of the iceberg as Hudson enthusiast go. We get to know Danny and family. We want them to succeed..There are many out there that don't frequent this forum and my well walk away with a sour taste in thier mouth if left without parts or an explaination.. As anyone in business for them selves can tell you.. Most of it is public relations. If the buyers don't like the way you do business, no matter how good your product is, the customer will not return.
I hope I haven't ruffled any feathers..That is not my intent.
Nuff said!
