distributer hold down wont work

I have a 53 flathead that had eab heads and i replaced them with edelbrock aluminum heads and replaced my stock distributer with a mallory electronic dizzy and now my distrbuter wont bottom out on front cover

First make sure the gear and shaft length are correct, if they are you are not getting the distributor gear to mesh with the cam gear, wiggle with light pressure on the top.

A sad note: I had the same problem with a Mallory on a FE Block where I used an Edelbrock Intake. The hole for the disruptor was .35 inch off of the stock intake location. Are you using the stock intake?
