Please Help Identify my inherited 1951 Hudson
Here are a few pic's of a 1951 Hudson that I am about to inherit. These are the only pictures I have. It is a 2 door coupe, but I cannot tell what model. Some of the pictures are blurry, but from all I can tell it is a Commodore. But is it an 8 or a 6? And can anyone tell me what that skripeted, sideways badge is on the back left area of the trunk lid says? It's killing me that I can't read it! Thanks in advance!

Welcome.
Beautiful looking coupe - treat her well!
The tailights are definitely Commodore style.
The script on the trunk might just be a dealer logo??0 -
Kevin, Without seeing the engine it's hard to tell if you have a 1951 Commodore 6 or 8. The other way would be to see whats on the front passenger side door pillar. If the serial number and model prefix begins with 6AXXXX then it's a Commodore 6. If the prefix number starts 8AXXXX then its a Commodore 8. This of course is providing that no one has changed the engine in the last 58 years. Dan is right about the trunk lid logo likely being from a dealer. Really nice car. Hope it runs as good as it looks.Congratulations on your inheritance.0

Nice car. Yup a 51. Yup... dealer script. Def looks like Commodore trim. Can't tell anything else from the photos. Looks like you'll have to wait until you open the engine bay....0

Looks great! I wish mine looked like that when I got it! LOL!0

I you could just make out what it says on the glove box door, it says Commodore 6 or 8. Nice looking car. Take care of it and enjoy it. I am working on a 51 Commodore 8, four door sedan but I have a long ways to go to make it look like that one.0

Nice looking car. Don Phillips Jeep is in Maryland. If that car belonged to the namesake, then it is a Commodore 6 according to an HET roster.
Enjoy your new ride.0 -
I agree with the above posters. It's not a Hornet, but is a Commodore. No rocket on the trunk and no H-145 badge on the trim below the vent windows. Sure looks sweet !0
