1919-23 Essex 4 Registry Help Wanted!

In December I volunteered for, and was made the manager of the new 1919-23 Essex 4 Registry for the HET Club. This change transpired too close to the printing deadline to be included in the Jan/Feb '09 issue of the WTN, but have been told it will make it into the next issue.

This Registry is designed to be a very valuable resource for the owners of 1919-23 SX4's. Membership in the HET Club is not required to have a car included in the listing, and I plan on making the Registry available to everyone who participates in the project. The main goal is to try to locate as many surviving examples of these great old cars as possible world wide. This Registry can also be used as a great tool for SX4 owners to assist them in contacting other owners for help with technical advice, parts, and other information to aid in the preservation, or restoration of their car.

I am currently working to obtain copies of Charles Smallwood's SX4 Registry information that he had gathered up through 2005 when he had to give up the project due to health issues. When I took on this project in December, the only cars that the Club had any information on were from the current membership renewals which totals 54 cars. When Charles had the registry, he has told me he had information on just over 165 cars. So as you can see I have my work cut out for me as the vast majority of the cars that where "known" have been lost track of.

I will greatly appreciate any help you could give to aid in rebuilding, and updating this registry. Please contact me if you own one of these unique cars, know someone who does, or know of an SX4 that is on display at a museum somewhere. Please send me an email at HETvoyageur@watchtv.net (Drop HET from address) I will reply with a list of the information that I would like to include in the registry for that vehicle.

Many thanks.:)
