"Best Original in the USA?" I guess some classic car/truck owners forget what the term "original" means. Nice truck but it ain't original....0

Hello,
It is a nice truck, but it seems like quite an exaggeration for the seller to say it "just might be one of the very best original stock (my emphasis) HUDSON pick-up trucks left on planet Earth."
Take care,
Steve Bryson0 -
I saw this yesterday too. Very nice truck, but like you guys already said, the "best original truck" is pretty far off. The engine is a nice upgrade, and I think that should have been emphasized more.0

I would love to own this truck. But I would have serious reservations about buying a vehicle from someone that states. It is all original then turns around and says it has a '56 308 engine. has been changed over to 12 volt, has A/C etc...........Looks like a great truck, but what is he NOT telling?
If I had the money and the time to go inspect it myself...... Oh Well, I guess I'll go watch the Super Bowl.......Have a good Night.

One thing I noticed is that the seller claims the engine is from a 1956 model. If you look at the head it has the 7/16 bolts. Didn't they go to the 1/2 studs with nuts for that year?

Talk about 'rose colored glasses'! And - that seller must be looking through them when describing the 'original & stock' attributes of his truck.
Those 'stock' hood louvers must have been a real rare option - This is the first time I've seen them in an original '46!
Other than not being anywhere close to stock, it is quite a nice truck.0 -

I beleive they used 1/2 cap screws on the '55 & '56 erngines. The 1/2 inch studs with heavy washers & nuts were used on the 7X engine kits supplied prior to 1955 by the Hudson factory.

Also how bout them spare tire mounts. Some folks will try to put anything off as original.0

Well, at least the holes for the "Hudson" and "SuperSix" chrome logos - right side of the hood haven't been filled (and left side as well - I am assuming, since there isn't a good picture of that side of the truck). You can actually see the tire mount, the hood louvers and the holes in the hood (for the 'Hudson' and 'SuperSix' logos) all in this photo -The good thing is that it wouldn't take too much to remove the tire mounts, and the chrome logos are readily available, although a bit expensive. The Louvers - probably should stay, I'd say they help cool that 308 Twin-H under the hood.0 -
Actually, a true original '46 or '47 pickup would not have had the "Hudson" or "Super Six" logos on the side of the hood - the holes would have been filled with riovets.
