This is a bit pricey, but there's a gizmo out there that you can put on your Hudson, which converts the 6-volt positive ground to 12 volts.

I wondered if anyone has had experience with these?

Yes, I have a converter to power my secret audio player and CD changer. I can tell you you need more than 8 amps to operate a modern radio, amp, and CD changer. I got the one secret audio makes and the first good base note and everything comes to a stop with the unit and the converter takes a dump. I eventually found a high power one with fans to keep everything cool. It works bu you can't turn it up to loud or the lights on the radio dim and the sound goes out. I must say I don't use it much because it is such a pain. Also it will drain the battery if left on.

My advice, if you want 12v toys convert to 12Vs

Has anyone tried a 12 volt battery in the trunk and a solar battery charger on the rear window shelf. I ran an additional 10ga wire under the headliner when I rewired my C8 for this application if it will work.
