:eek:What about one where we can have our dog. He is a 'family' member also? Thanks, Arnie in Nevada

    Arnie,

Some hotel sites post pet rules on their web sites - some don't. In that case a few phone calls will find one that will take your special "family" member.

If you happen to belong to AAA I believe they have a list of pet friendly hotels - tho a back-up phone call should be made.

My daughter, several years ago, took a week long trip from Memphis to the North Carolina coast with her dog. I believe she found all the pet friendly motels she stayed at thru AAA. Of course, when she went to check in, they might have regretted being pet friendly. Her traveling companion was a 12 year old, 75 pound rottweiler. In all fairness once the motel in question discovered Lady was a registered thearapy dog (the only rottweiler to be allowed access to nursing homes in the Memphis area) they calmed down a lot. And in more than one case my daughter was told how wonderfully behaved Lady was and that she would be welcomed back.

Of course, if all else fails you can always pass your family pet off as a therapy dog - such as you are subject to seizures and the dog senses that so lets you know. As long as they don't ask, and most won't, for proof.

:)Thanks Alex, I will find a hotrl or motrl this weekend, I do not mind paying a "pet fee" if needed. Arnie
  • I have my hotel reservations but have not sent my registration in yet due to some health issues I now have and not sure I can make it. I have the registration filled out with a $266.00 total. If I make it can I register at the door and maybe find some tours that may be open or do I have to send the registration form in ? Thanks, Ron Prida

I sent the basic $25.00 and if I make it I have seen in the past folks selling their tour tickets. Ron
  • I am bumping this back up to the top because, I believe we should make this the largest national in the history of the H.E.T. club!:)

For those that are campers.. Some of us from Florida have reservations confirmed at Pontiac lake Recreation area. http://www.michigandnr.com/parksandtrails/Details.aspx?type=SPRK&id=485

I hope the link works. it's supposedly an easy drive to the host hotel. Rates are reasonable. Most camp grounds in the area are closed for the season, but you can register on line with these folks. See Ya There!
