Hi all you Jet fans. I'm going to start selling on e-bay and the first thing my Dad has up for grabs is a Jet water outlet that is NOS, never been on a car. Right now the bidding is at one cent! I was hoping to get a little more for it then that. Come on Sarah, or Royer, couldn't you use a spare?:)

I would have bought it from you but that shipping in US only kills any Canadian business.0

I agree Sean, plus the UPS shipping as well. USPS is a whole lot cheaper for small parts. I guess we are second class Hudson owners.0

This is the first thing I've ever listed and I didn't want to end up selling it for a dollar and have to pay for the shipping myself. So I did enough shipping cost so I at least wouldn't lose money. As for the Canada shipping, I don't know how much extra it costs to ship out of the country so I just avoided it. I sorta' thought that someone would look at the item, figure what the total price is that they wanted to spend on it, include the shipping, and not go over whatever total cost they had in their head. Please don't let the eight bucks shipping scare ya. If you would only pay ten then don't bid over two bucks, right? ...Oh, and I did "UPS" because they have a tracking number if the buyer wants to follow along where his/her item is. This is my first item I've listed and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.:)
So far I got:
1. Make the shipping more in line with the actual weight of the item rather than having the shipping be a "minimum bid".
2. Include Canada.
Anything else?
By the way, I'll ship to Canada if it's no big deal.0 -

Good luck selling on ebay - I gave up a long time ago.
It seemed like a good idea to start...
What I found is that when you add up the time of taking the pictures, creating the ads to post, add the time finding/buying boxes, and add the time to box the items and drive down to the Post Office or UPS store only to stand in line for a 1/2 hour and add the costs of the packing materials - it just didn't make cents it to me0 -

...drive down to the Post Office or UPS store
USPS will pick up packages right from your house. You just print the shipping labels out on your PC through a USPS account you open up. I wouldn't be surprised if UPS does the same.
That said, I haven't found time for ebay either. I just have my sister sell my things on her EBAY account, then I give her a small cut of the profits. She likes to do it.0 -
Yup USPS is best for Canada shipments. I will not buy anything on eBay that uses UPS. Those bastards charge a minimum $38 fee to us to broker the package into Canada. USPS charges $5 on anything over $100 anything under is free. For stuff like this I pay for the part and shipping no problem. And I buy a lot of parts for the Hudsons I am restoring from the US. Zero problems with USPS I love those folks.0

Okay, I was not aware. So I should sell with the option of UPS or USPS. Sounds good to me.:)0 -
Hey bent,
Another cool thing in addition to tracking with USPS is the 'flat rate' boxes they have for smaller items. Weight doesnt matter if it fits in the box!
