Question on removing front vent window glass

Doug, assuming the front vent window frames have been removed from your car, proceed as follows: get a long ice pick shaped type rod and very slowly put it between the glass and the chrome window channel. At the same time slightly pull apart the two sides of the vent window channel so that you create more of a gap for the wedge you are putting in. WORK SLOWLY. Don't get into a big hurry. Make progress a little at a time. Work toward the point of the of the triangle. Alternate from the top using the same method as you did on the bottom. If you are scrapping the glass you can work faster but if you need the glass for a pattern, you need to keep it as much intact as possible. Usually the setting channel rubber gives way after enough pressure is put on it and will yield. Above all be patient and work carefully. It can be done. I've done dozens of them. Make sure all the glass and channel are removed when you send the frame out for replating. Another good idea is to remove the top two rivets on the window pivot. Also the bottom rivets on the window latch for crank or friction. Good luck on your project.0
