    I'm not aware of anyone doing that, but why not just simply replace it with a NOS one? The one in the photo looks like a replacement anyway ("Blue Streak"?). The original would have been the cut-out type, Autolite CBA-4003 -- unless someone has changed the system to a full regulator type. These things are still available if you look around.



    If you plan to drive this regularly and want to up the output (for more accessories and halogen headlights, for example), you could easily change to a more powerful (later model) generator and voltage regulator, anyway.

    I was debating on wether to have this one restored or go with the later set up.
