36 vs 37 Banjo Wheel

Well we compaired wheels at San Diego on Saturday and there is a siginificant difference between a 36 wheel and a 37. Not only are the spokes different but the diameter of the 36 wheel is smaller. So much so that you can not used the 37 mold. Also the shape of the grip is completely different.

    I found a ad from 1936 that the wheels were made by Sheller in Portland Indiana. Sheller began making wood Steering wheels in 1916.

    They became Sheller Globe and later became part of Lear.
