painting a stepdown frame

understand front frame under motor was painted grey or silver on 53 super wasp s can someone tell where the cutoff was or have a picture of it. was it at or in front of cross member?

Are you sure of this? I thought all stepdown front frame clips were black.

All frames from 1930 to 1954 were black low gloss enamel. Walt.

thanks fellas don't where i got that. perhaps the crossover piece under motor was silve?
