Door panel trim
Hi in hudsonland I hope everybody are healthy. I need some door panel trim for our 54 Hornet hollywood. I work in a factory where they use sheets of 18 -20 guage stainless steel .I am going to ask if they can cut some strips the
proper width then get the edges bent over the inner metal piece with the prongs that hold the trim to the door panel. Any ideas would be very helpful.

Do you have any door trim pieces at all that have the tabs broken off or are you in need of all the pieces?0

Hi Rick I have all the original door trim but some of it is rusty chrome has come off and some bent and kinked. So I figured if I could get some new pieces done in ss. as our shop is very slow now I am down to 4 days and
heard another day less That really SUCKS. Ray0 -
I've just been sent one textured 54 door trim and it appears to be stainless. Like everything else on a 54 it seems they may have made them both ways.
The textured one I have does not have tabs on the back and appear to be fastened by glue originally, what kind do you have?
I can fix the kinks and damage
the tabs are easily replaced with flattened out and bent paperclips also.0 -
Hi Rick The inside door panel trim all have a metal strip inside that looks like it could be camium plated I have extra trim so just need the outer pieces.
How much do you charge by the hour? So much per piece. Ray:D::)0 -
My pricing is by the piece. I try to project ahead as to how long a given trim should take to fix based on not falling below $50 per hr.
Very fair is what I would describe my pricing basically.
I'm still not sure I understand your trim situation though, are your trim pieces connected to the retainers as most usually are?
I can fix them even if they're connected to the retainers, kinked or not.0 -
Duncan: Rick Monroe is our stainless GURU. You wouldn't believe what this man can do with stainless trim. It could be bent 45%, and when you got it back it would be exactly factory specs....
Rick I think he' s talking about clips. Am I thinking wrong. If so clips are available from KGap, or Dellis Hudson. I have purchased both. With Dellis you have to drill your own holes. All 1 Ft lenghts. KGap holes are already drilled. Dellis $3.00 per ft. KGap $5.00 per ft.0 -
Thanx fer yer support0

Hi I am sorry that I am not explaining myself good enough. I will try again.
The trim pieces that I am talking about are 1 inch wide and they
cover the seams of naugahyd and cloth in our 54 hornet hollywood. they have a tin retainer that the is trim strip is crimped to.
The tin trim strip could be also ss trim strip. They are not glued on.
They are held on by the barbs that are on the retainer strip and go through the panels and are bent over.
I think of the 54 hornet bodystyle the hollywood is the only body style that
uses this trim on the inner door panels and quarter panels. Ray 780-349-2747:D0 -
Ok it sounds as though you are describing the smooth stainless strips with the barbed attached retainers instead of the TEXTURED stainless trim, am I correct?0

I just tried to call ya----I'll try again later0
