I notice this is an old post - lot of folks never been over to my tech sites are gonna get confused. MSN bailed out on us - but at least they were nice about it giving us something like 3 months to move everything. Unlike AOL that pulled the plug on web sites with no warning at all. Several Hudson people, like John King and, I think, Paul Schuster, among others, lost their sites.

So I moved mine over to freewebs.com ( www.freewebs.com/hudsontech ) - trouble is there seems to be a virus string that affects some people, but not others. According to Ted Welch, head guru of ClassicCar, the problem seems to be in Googles web site code - but Google says to me "Who?? Us??" and the merry-go-round goes round and round.

Ted is working on moving my site to ClassicCar - it's on his to-do list. And when he gets it moved hopefully that virus string will be filtered out. So it will solve two worries from my mind - the virus warnings and if something happens to me (hey, I'm 72 - who knows what jealous husband is lurking around the corner with a shotgun!!) the site will go on. Hopefully.

We've also been working with Gregg Maroney and he's set up a Hudson on-line library for the many books and manuals I've scanned. You can find that @:

I recently talked with a fellow who is a part the GEEK Squad at one of the local electronics sales box stores. He told me that the Google connection is infact the reason some get virus warnings and some do not. The malware and virus perpetrators rotate thier malicous code using URLs and key word search results which bring up sites. So the simple action of using the key word allows the connection to the target site. How does this work? Ask a hacker or an IT person. For me the answer provided by the GEEK Squad tech solves the mystery.

Thanks for your support to the Hudson hobbiests.
