  • I would like to see a 'tech' section on this forum. Similar to the 'discussion' or 'street rod' section that you have here. One place where threads such as this could be easily found. Perhaps others would write 'how-to's' of various Hudson component rebuilding procedures.

So much valuable Hudson knowledge and information gets buried here under new topics and conversation. I feel like we are all missing out on a great oportunity to learn from and refernce each others information.

To all of you who are following this thread, I want to add my thoughts on Guy's work and to share some pics of the 52 Pacemaker Brougham that Buzz Stahl and I have been working on for Bonneville. We were looking for a Pacemaker Brougham that we thought would have the best aerodynamics as a stock bodied Hudson and this was the desert car that Al Saffrahn found for me. It had dents in every panel and a little rust here and there. And a short sedan door on the left and many mixed Hudson parts. We put together a full set of 52 Pacemaker trim with the help of many of the known cohorts in the club. Guy worked over each panel and did just what was asked in terms of not turning it into perfection, but a solid car to paint. Dents out, holes filled, door rust repaired, etc, etc.

I know many have acknowledged his skill at fabrication, but his ability to do the job according to the customer's standards (and budget) may be more rare. I take my hat off to a young man of skill who is a pleasure to deal with--not a prima donna. Before pic from Al's yard in Maricopa and after pics in Buzz's driveway in Escondido last fall.

I hope you will pass the word that there is a man out there who has much to offer.
