hudson jet 1/8 scale model
I just purchased a hudson jet 1/8 scale model. It's 22" long and highly detailed. It appears to be a plaster casting of high quality with excellent detail. It has no door handle or script. It is "in the white" never painted. It is a 4 door on the passenger side and two door on the drivers side. The only damage appears to be the point on the hood ornament is chipped. bottom inside is marked "RUVOLO 1988".
Anyone have an idea how common these are? Range of value?
Thanks

Over the years a number of H-E-T Club members have turned out resin castings of the original Hudson styling plaster models (or of copies of those models, which were made by Hudson), and sold them "in white", for finishing by Club members. I don't recall ever seeing a Jet model, but this sounds like one of those.0

i believe this was made by long time member charles ruvolo of st. clair shores michigan, for many years he owned the only true stepdown pick-up that was made at hudson. he is in the current h.e.t. roster:)0

I Also Have The Plaster Jet Made By Charle Ruvolo. I Als0 Have A Stepdown Pickup And 46 Or 47 Sedan 2 Door On One Side 4 On The Other, All Made By Charle. He Used To Advertise In The Wtn But I Don't Think He's Making Them Any Longer.0

Coincidentally, I recently contacted HET member Charles Ruvolo of Michigan in regards to a letter I came across from years ago. He used to sell the plaster models of Hudsons for about $130 each. He responded through his son, Tony, who let me know that his father is no longer creating the models and they would be interested in selling the plaster of paris molds used to make them. The ad will appear in the next WTN.0

Thanks, I didn't remember seeing the jet before. It would be nice if someone can pick up the mold and continue. They are very high quality with great detail.
Last weekend I went to a board meeting in Shipshewana, Indiana and found the hostetler hudson museum right beside the hotel. Well worth the admission and a great collection of quality hudson vehicles.0
