frame problem

I am getting an intermittant noise coming from what I think is the socket, where the front clip joins the main frame. there is a large pin connecting the two frames. The noise is a popping sound and only occurs after about an hours driving and a rough piece of road. Pavement joints or dips in the road will make it pop. I don't recall anyone on this forumn discussing that frame connection,or problems there in.
