Danny Gronning has a nice 34 Hudson Convertible for sale in Mountlake Terrace Wa. He would like to see it go to an HET member. The car was left to him by his parents and he doesn't have the time to properly care for the car. He can be reached at dgronning@hotmail.com. I hope he can get a fair price for this car and he's not taken advantage of. I wouldn't let it go for less than $50000 if it was mine, but then I'm kind of partial to 34's.

I wrote the owner of the car and told him that I wouldn't accept anything less than 40 if it were mine and 50K would be a reasonable starting place (what I would pay). He also has many extra parts, extra engine, and the "HUDSON" letters on the garage you see in the picture.

:)I know this car. A Wes Clifton bought it in 1964-65 from the original owner. At the time it was a coupe. Very nice car then. Anumber of years later, a Terraplane roadster that had been hot rodded and was in rough shape showed up at the Portland swap meet. It had a perfect winshield posts and frame, plus most needed parts to make the coupe intpo a convertible or roadster. It turned out nicely.

Years later, the engine was rebuilt, and the car was driven to a Western Regional Meet in Reno, Nevada where it recieved a lot of attention. I know it was also drven to the Portland National in 1989.

I know Wes had a stroke but do not remember when. His wife drove the car to meets, and it seemed very reliable and a fun car to drive or ride in. My wife enjoyed riding in the rumble seat, something she can no longer do.

I last saw Wes Clifton and the car in around 1991. He unfortunatly passed away awhile after that.

That '34 convertible is a great car and I really hope it finds a good home. I knew Wes quite well when I lived in the Seattle area and he waqs a good man. I since moved to California then to Nevada and lost track of Wes.

It would have been nice to have that car at this years National, I am sure it would have changed hands.

Hope everyone made it home okay from the National. Arnie in Nevada
