    Jim,

I sent you a PM about my 50 Super 6 and my experiences with my 49 Commodore which wasn't as bad as what you pictured here...
I was sorry I got into it so far before realizing how bad it was - unless it was a 2dr or a convert I'd never try and restore one like this again...I'd part this one out and look for another one in better shape.

Just to show you that along with Free there is also the issue of should it be restored? Not all should. But then again, look at all of the nice cars that would not be on the road today if someone was not willing to play a little in the shop. Not all Hudsons are as rare as the Jet Convertible--but I have yet to drive a Hudson that was not a blast!!! There are many ways that I could rebuild the car in these photo's, but, none are proving to be as challenging and as fun as this one. (today I would go for a nice tight original convertible body--but then if I had that, I would need to cut 12 inches out of the center of the body.) It is also taking a lot longer than I expected. But then again, the fun goes on. And since it was free, there is a chance I will not be over my head in costs (labor does not count) when it finaly hits the road. sorry about the quality of a these photo's--old phone camera.
  • Thank you Rambos Ride for the PM. I really appreciate your experiences and advice. I have a lot of discovering and a few decisions to make. I really would like to save this car.... if possible and feasible.
  • HUDSON 308 & BROWNIE.... Thanks for your reply and thoughts also. DREAM or DIE. . . as you can tell from the photos I am a Dreamer. I do have a lot more time than money and love working with cars. I need to really evaluate better when I can take the fenders and panels off. It is more than 'borderline' to fix Her or not. I certainly appreciate everyones opinon and helpful experiences. "Free" can be costly and timely.... But I would love to save this car... if reasonably possible.
