I just got home from the National. Had a great time. Took my 14 year old daughter who also had a great time. Met loads of nice people. Bought some parts raided the club store and saw some nice cars. A pile of fun was had by all. Kudos to the Host members for putting on a great show. Also got me some nice T-shirts to wear. Got shirts for just about everyone I know, wearing them is mandatory, its high fashion to be sporting a meet shirt.0

OK, great photo's but you missed my two favorite cars. The Railton had a bit of a mechanical problem and the term when the $!!% hit the fan is close but in this case it was when the fan blade hit the radiator. The other came to us from the Netherlands. Both British built.... It was a great show and I picked up some much needed parts....0

I covered this in a recent W.T.N. article, and yet it still happens. Seems like the old adage "it only happens to others" still holds true. Check those fan blades NOW. It akes ten minutes at most to unbolt the fan, and minutely inspect them for cracks.0 -

I like the picture of all of the green Hudsons. They say all Hudsons were green at one time or another.:D

Didnt want to take a pic not knowing what was up and didnt want to embarass anyone! Guess it would have been OK now knowing what happened.

their were a couple very, very, nice twin H's there that I would have loved to own!
Somehow lost my pics of the boat tail. Had a couple of it. Hmm...
It was great meeting Walt, Lew, Mike, Dr Doug, and Park. Wish you could have been there Richard would have enjoyed meeting you in person as well.

Jeff, I cannot understand how I could have missed you. I was taking photo's every day and as new cars showed up. Most of what I got into was shooting hood marques and grill fronts. There were some great examples of birds....
The boattail was under construction. Did not run into the owner but the work is progressing just fine. Most of the shots I saw of it showed the driver door in place. The other door is not finished yet? The wood work and metal work is great on the car. It is going to be one great car when it is finished...
Stupid me, I only shot the drivers side? I do not think the orange paint is the finish coat. Could be, but if it were mine some 1200 and a final shot would make the paint jump. I do know that the hood is primer....0 -
I met the owner driving the blue Railton (shipped to USA from Ireland) at a service station just off I90, East of Bozeman, MT; said he is from Ireland and had the car shipped to the USA for this year's Hudson meet.
Saw the 1937 flatty Hudson 8 engine in it when he raised the hood to add 1 quart of oil (was leaking a drop about every foot). He said that he has made numerous attempts to stop the rear seal leak, but not even the "Best" rope seals work (GraphTite)!
My engine builder uses the Best Graph Tite seals and they work flawlessly on his flathead in-line (not Hudson) that he races at Bonneville and holds world records. ..... Not a drop leaks past the mains.
The guy from Ireland told me he owns 20 Hudson's.

There is no seal in the back of a Hudson 8 motor, nor any splasher engine, just a slinger flange on the crank and a drain channel with deflector plates to giude the oil therein. .0

No, certainly not, but it should be fixable. It's either the drain hole blocked, the pipe solder cracked, or bad fitting shields and gaskets.0 -

As Tony (the tiger) would say - GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREEEIIIIIIIIIIIIGHHHHT photo's - and bless you Sarah for putting captions with each. The step-downs are easy to identify as to year - the 30's somewhat and back in the 20's and teens it is sometimes hard to identify a year.
I liked the shot of that black '47 Hudson pickup - somebody should feed it. It looks hungry!!!!
